I don’t know the exact mechanics for how the side-kicking system works. But, I do know that a person can be side-kicked up to a higher level in order to help their higher level friend. Also, I know that higher level monsters tend to give more experience than lower level monsters. So, I have both a question and a suggestion, but first let me give an example to help set the scene.
Let’s say that a level 5 player has a level 50 friend who wants their help. So, the friend sidekicks the level 5 player and the two of them decide to take on a level 50 monster. Now let’s say that this level 50 monster gives you 100 experience for killing it. Here’s the question. Do both players get 100 experience? If so, then my suggestion is that this be changed.
Here’s why. In my opinion, the low level player should not be able to get the full 100 experience because, had he/she not been side-kicked up, they normally wouldn’t have been able to defeat a level 50 monster. Now I’m not saying that the low level player shouldn’t get any experience, just less experience. While their friend gets the full 100 experience, they should only get 10 experience, or whatever amount seems fair. This way, you don’t have a bunch of low level players side-kicking themselves up to higher levels so they can gain faster experience. I view this as unfair to all the players who had to get experience the hard way.
However, if a high level player sidekicks down to a lower level, they should be able to gain all the experience that their friend gets. This being because they would normally be able to defeat a lower level monster by themselves.
So basically, if a player gets side-kicked from a low level to a higher level, the experience they gain from high level monsters should be less than the experience a higher level player would get.
