So apart from the fact that we don’t really know anything that happened in Cantha after the rise of the dragons, we do know the people; my thought is specifically about the Luxons. Before the jade wind struck, the Luxons were seafaring people that traveled on boats, after the wind struck, they adapted into a nomadic lifestyle where they build huge crawling crab machines and extensively mined jade to export. My actual idea is for when the Emperor Usoku and his iron hand fell on the Luxons and Kurzicks. His vision for Cantha (how I interpret what I heard) was that of the basic isolationist, if they are not interfered with by other countries, and they are completely unified as a people then there will be a lot more advances made, especially a country as large and as diverse as Cantha. The only problem I see with this is the Kurzics and the Luxons, in my head, they wouldn’t bow their heads to this new looming threat, and while we know they didn’t last militarily I think culturally they could have easily just adapted to a new harsh system where they couldn't be as open with their culture. The way my idea manifests itself is through the new underwater component of GW2, there are many places throughout Tryia where the krait, or the quaggan, or other races have placed little villages or grottos, however I think that if Cantha is included in a new Campaign (or expansion) the Luxons could have large settlements underwater. As far as the Emperor knows and sees the Luxons are crushed, living in small settlements above ground, Cavalon (which in my version is a lot smaller due to a long hard siege), Bai Paasu Reach and SeaFarer's Rest (which were already small to begin with). However, the real story is that the Luxon used the military action as a diversion to evacuate all of their elders and craftsman. They fled to new underwater settlements strategically placed around the not-so-jade sea where they could be free to be Luxon and try to either fight back eventually or forge a new aquatic life away from the threat of the horrible Emperor. This might be getting a bit ahead of myself, but I just thought the idea was really interesting.

P.S. Sorry my thoughts are not very succinct I just write them as they occur.
