I was playing Guild Wars today and talking to some friends about the achievements that we have already seen in Guild Wars 2 when I had an idea. Wouldn't it be great if when you killed bosses, their heads appeared on plaques in your home instance?
Thinking about this further I expanded on this idea- one could own an "Achievements Book" in your home instance, which contains a list of all the achievements you have earned to date, and maybe have a picture to go along with it, so you can gradually fill the book as you play. Also there could be a separate book for lesser bosses, with their name and class, as well as a screenshot, in which the pages become unlocked as you go.
For larger bosses, mostly related to the storyline or dungeons, particular icons that represent the foe could appear around the house. For example you may get the tooth of "Tequatl the Sunless" (miniaturised) hanging from your wall, or the head of a particular monster on a plaque- much like deer heads on plaques in 18th century houses. These filled books could offer rewards for completion- perhaps titles, or special weapon skins, or gold and experience. I would quite enjoy filling out these books, and I think they would offer quite an incentive for people to find hidden or out-of-the-way areas.
Tell me what you think!
