If this is the case why not create an algorithm to make this cycle change over time, as our daylight hours get longer with summer and shorter with winter, creating or at least setting up the possibility for seasons, and maybe eventually northern and southern hemispheres. I have a suspicion that the world of Tyria was originally invisioned to be much larger than 2-3 continents, and as a "world" could have any orbit and axis tilt/rotation the devs want to give it.

Cons:

  • Alot of work to create believable seasons but if weather is already a major design feature maybe not so much.


Pros:

  • This would solve the problem of always having it the same in game time when a player always logs on at the same time every day or most days.
  • Ultra-immersive game play.
