Suggestion[edit]

Gaining access to The Northlands in pre-searing Ascalon has gotten to be a real thorn in my side. Currently, this requires needing someone to open a gate for you right outside Ascalon City. It has gotten beyond infuriating to stand in an outpost requesting this simple chore that takes a whopping roughly 1 minute of someone's time due to the fact that most people who are standing there doing absolutely nothing choose to ignore you, or on the other hand exploit people for outrageous sums of money to do something to assist a fellow player. There are countless occasions where I have had to wait in excess of 15-30 minutes involving mapping from district to district to district trying to find someone to open this gate for me. Further, because of this being ignored by other players, myself and other players have no option but to "spam" local chat looking for a "GM" (gate monkey) at which point other players then tell you to stop spamming chat. The other option? Put your request in party search. This does not work either, as that gets ignored as well. Seeing as I spend my pre-searing time almost solely in The Northlands as I am at a point in the game now where I am death-levelling my charcter due to pursuing my Legendary Defender of Ascalon title, standing in an outpost looking for a GM for so long is just absolutely ridiculous and beyond infuriating. This has gotten to the point for me that I am reconsidering this title due to the fact that access to this area is dependent on a fellow player who chooses to ignore you, or worse, exploit you monetarily...especially to people who are brand new in pre-searing and have little or no money available to them. If access to The Northlands could be changed allowing people to gain entry without the assistance of another, I am sure it would make the experience for players a little better.
