Update: This feature request has been confirmed, to be possibly implemented or working on adding into the game.
- My suggestion is for Guild Wars 2. I'm pretty sure Arena Net has already fixed this issue, but since I heard so little about it, I simply want to put my suggestion out there to play it safe. I have one issue (or should I say "pet peeve") I'd like to see fixed and three suggestions:
- My first suggestion is concerning the ability to foot travel throughout the entire continent of Tyria. In the previous version of Guild Wars, players were only able to travel from one mini map to another. Yes these were connected to make up the entire continent of Tyria, but it didn't feel that way. The reason's for this were because of (1.) having to travel between portals, (2.) not being able to jump & swim (no Z-axis) made an issue, as the maps had to be routed off. So instead of traveling troughout a huge open world where every mountain peak could be climbed and every depth of the ocean explored; players were left traveling throughout one big maze.
- However, I'm not talking about just climbing mountains and swimming the depths of the ocean. To help me explain, check out this link: Charr Homelands/Map. It's a map of the Charr Homelands. Do you see how south of Grothmar Wardowns and west of Sacnoth Valley, there's nothing? Well, there should be something. I don't care if it's all mountains, because it's mountains we should be able to climb. I want the entire map travel-able by foot! If not, maybe this would be the perfect opportunity to make those people who want mounts happy. I'm sure you could think of a way to implement mounts that only work within a certain region? Either way, I don't care much for mount's, they just don't give MMO's a good feel to me (but I'd be glad to compromise).
- Another suggestion I'd like to make: Tyria is a pretty big continent, but not big enough. Now I'm not suggesting to do this with the upcoming release of Guild Wars 2, but as a later expansion. After your Guild Wars 2 expansions of Elona and Cantha... First off, when Guild Wars 2, along with the ELona and Cantha expansions are released (because I know they will be), update it so that it's one large world map. I want to see Tyria, Elona and Cantha on a single map. It will give a feel of completeness. A feel of, "Wow, this is frig'n monumental!" Nextly, there's a whole east side of Tyria, Elona and Cantha that are bordered by mountains. This isn't like with Christopher Columbus, if we travel over those mountains, were not going to fall of the edge of the world! There's gotta be something over there, right? After the release of Guild Wars 2, the Elona and Cantha expansions; I'd like to see another expansion extending the eastern border's to the three continent's. Heck, why not make it so that the eastern border of the new (theoretical) expansion rap's around to the Maguuma Jungle and the Trarnished Coast?
- Lastly... "FINALLY! An MMORGP that I actually like... that lets me swim underwater!" However, there's something else I'd like to see implemented in the game: I'd like to see underwater outpost's and cities. I'm talking like Atlantis or something. How awesome would it be to look up in this huge underwater city and see this immeasureable steel and glass dome separating you from all the aquatic life on the other side?
- My suggestion is for Guild Wars 2. I'm pretty sure Arena Net has already fixed this issue, but since I heard so little about it, I simply want to put my suggestion out there to play it safe. I have one issue (or should I say "pet peeve") I'd like to see fixed and three suggestions:
- Again, I'm pretty sure you already fixed this pet peeve of mine (though I didn't tell you which suggestion was my pet peeve), but I want to put it out there, just to play it safe.
- So that's it,
- Thanks,
