Because of the sometimes chaotic nature of dynamic events, it is not always possible for those players who enjoy having some sort of context for the event to easily locate the NPCs that can provide the relevant information, at least without missing out on the opportunity to feel they fully participated in the event.
A brief -- a paragraph or two -- narrative summary of the event *after it concludes* would offer those players who want to be able to follow the little stories that take place in the world a more rewarding experience. Something along the lines of a brief introduction that gives the event a context, followed by one or two sentences that are added on for each success or fail point during the event would be sufficient.
As most players do not want such information, I suggest making its access completely optional by including a small button (perhaps a small book or scroll and feather icon) in the block that includes the medal and rewards given to the player for his participation in the event in the quest tracker.
