Motivation[edit]

I noticed that the majority of skills employed by a potent enemy that are of the area of effect type are of circular shape. Circular shapes but other shapes as well provide a strong disincentive to cluster. In another feedback post, I wrote about the general need incentives and disincentives to cluster up [1]. Incentives could be providing benefits to clustering up such as the skills the Guardian has provide. This is a voluntary measure friendly players want to adopt at tactical moments. The other side of this coin is forced clustering at tactical moments. To get at this aspect, I am also using the ring-shaped structures you were using in some of the guardian spells. The ring-shape is important so that the skill does not become over-powered

Skill Description Page:[edit]

This is a charged skill. The longer the skill is charged, the longer the range of this spell. On the other hand, this makes the skill more easily interruptable as well. A ring-shaped (basically the area between a smaller and a bigger circle) form expands and catches those foes who are caught within the ring-shaped area. To be clear, neither foes outside the largest circle, nor foes who are inside the inside circle are not affected - only foes between the circles. Foes who are caught are dragged back X distance towards the center of

Variation 1[edit]

The ring-shape expands around the caster of this spell.

Variation 2[edit]

The ring-shaped structure can be cast within a defined short range of the caster.

Optional Effects[edit]

Damage is optional (depending on game balancing issues). Moving foes can optional trip and fall leading to damage. There may be optional degeneration or energy draining damage. Optionally, foes in the way of any of the foes who do not have a defensive stance of some sort may be knocked over.

Effect Mitigation[edit]

Vines may be frozen, burned, or slashed. Passing barriers created by a guardian is optional.
