According to the Guild Wars Official Wiki page "User interface" ([1]):
"All server, guild, and NPC messages also appear in the [Chat] window."
Not true!
I own Guild Wars Platinum Edition, which includes Guild Wars and the Eye of the North expansion pack. When I first entered Lion's Arch, a notice briefly flashed on the screen:
"To unlock Eye of the North you must accept a quest from ..."
I didn't write down the information (I shouldn't need to). I looked in the Chat Window for a copy of the message. NOT THERE!
Now, I won't know for certain how to unlock the expansion pack that I own.
Suggestions:
1. DO NOT flash important messages on the screen. Important messages should require an action from the player (e.g. a mouse click on a button) before disappearing from the screen;
2. Record ALL important messages to the Chat Window;
3. Create a separate History window where all server and NPC messages are recorded. (I don't understand mixing apples [chat messages from human players] with oranges [server and NPC messages].)
