People get hacked every single day. If they have a valuable armorset, it is destroyed, if they have runes, they are torn from the armor. These gold sellers are meeting a demand, and doing it in the easiest, fastest way possible.

The first, and absolutely necessary, change is a change to armor. our obsidian armor is viewed by the game as being identical in all but vendor value to simple max armor, despite the majority of the guildwars population knowing fully well that obsidian was a mark of absolute pristege. In order to combat goldfarming, Obsidian, Vabbian, and other select prestige armors need to be made impossible to dispose of, and impossible to salvage. by removing the possibility that these armors can be refunded at all, you counter a portion of the severe problems that guildwars suffers from.

Another solution, which again is absolutely necessary, is a vast increase to the number and quality of salvage armor with upgrades attached. In prophecies, these drops are largely common, although rarely of a higher quality then vendor trash, where as in Factions, Nightfall, and Eye of the North, these items are incredibly rare, and carry a relatively low value. By increasing the number and quality of these items, you will strengthen the ingame economy and inversely weakening the pool of resources that the goldsellers have access to.
