Looking at WvW footage, I really like the effort that has been put into the global dynamic map of the battleground. I think the idea of an API to view this live data would be a very nice touch to be able to see a similar dynamic map from either a mobile app or a web browser. This way I could track the situation for the 2-week long game even when I'm not at my home computer. This could also be used to create more advanced strategies with fellow guild-members.
I'm not suggesting that the Developers do all of this, just make the data available and let the community create tools that can handle and parse said data. A few examples being which faction holds which keep or castle, the current score, time left, etc.
