Currently, AB is dead. There's no way to sugarcoat it. Even on an AB quest day, there aren't very many people - 1, maybe 2 full entrances worth. And that makes gameplay very stagnant, very fast. On days without an AB quest, you're lucky to find a SINGLE person on either faction's side. I'm not exaggerating whatsoever, for those who have never tried AB, or simply haven't tried it recently.

The reason? Rewards SUCK. At least, that's the only FIXABLE reason. I won't get into faction unbalance here. FA gives 4k faction for under 10 minutes of effort. JQ, the same for the same amount of time. AB gives 4k faction for a much longer amount of work, unless you completely shut out the other faction. But really, the other arenas are irrelevant, because of the one thing that really killed AB: speed clears.

MQ/MTSC reward, on average, 1k faction/minute with an average team. That's no entrance timer, no enemy players, no "chance" of getting the faction. If you have a half-decent team, it's a sure thing. Compare that to the (previous) average of a 5-minute wait for AB, a 50% chance of winning - no, scratch that, because the map imbalance is a big part of what helped to kill AB - the underdog faction has maybe a 25% chance of winning, all for 4-5k faction. Oh, and you can't even decide who your whole team is going to be composed of, only the 4 people in your group. Your team could perform spectacularly, but if your other allies aren't up to scratch, then it doesn't matter. All that for 4k faction, which only one side gets so really an average of 2k faction, for (as a said, PREVIOUSLY) 5 minutes of waiting and a 10+ minute game. At very minimum, assuming you got in quickly and won in maybe 5 minutes, that's still just 4k faction. Less per minute than speed clears. And that's a completely ideal scenario. It's not hard to see why AB died.

The solution?

    1. 1 - Kill the speed clears. The best way to do this without discouraging actual vanquishing is by stacking skills on the monsters that tear through the SC builds (Rend Enchantments, Nature's Renewal, Consume Soul, etc. for the basically 2 different builds run for this), or to restrict the amount of faction one can get in a certain amount of time (basically, one vanq per day per area and one vanq per half-hour at most). This allows people to still earn faction by PvEing without giving them the ridiculously powerful faction-farming methods that currently exist.
    2. 2 - Buff AB rewards. Underdog faction needs to get a larger win bonus to encourage actually playing on that side, but overall rewards should be increased to something like 6k faction per win.

AB was a really fun area and it's completely gone. I don't want to play AB once a week when the quest comes up or once every few months when the weekend even comes up. It's simply ridiculous, and it's even more ridiculous that PvE will earn you faction literally 4+ times as fast with a fraction of the uncertainty or effort.
