Regarding WvW and the transition between server selection/matching, there is an opportunity to cement the community (both server and game-wide) by providing a short 1-2 hour ceremony or festival that participants in the three server WvW PvP could attend to socialize and celebrate the past two weeks of fighting.

The ceremony could be anything as simple as a common room where participants could talk, to something more advanced like a large tavern or banquet hall replete with mini-games, the occasional bar fight, and a presentation of accomplishments +/- rewards for outstanding play. Recognition could include any statistics you would find relevant, from K/D ratio, longest time fighting, most damage taken, biggest hit, ect. to the more obscure. A time lapse of the map control if you had the resources. (To maximize resources, look into map/game assets already made).

You could encourage attendance if you wanted in whatever way you see fit, which isn't a bad idea considering relationships lead to increased retention. My personal theory on persistent world PvP includes a rivalry component, and it has been my experience the friendly competitive rivalries outlast those filled with animosity..but that's anecdotal and barely relevant.

Seems like this idea might have even come in handy to close your Betas.

I hope you can use this idea now, if you find it has any merit.
