Wisps and Fairies: Familiars of Karma[edit]

These wandering familiars would serve as a replacement for quest markers, and also help players discover distant events; as guides to new content; or as heralds warning of dangerous areas. This is your current 'Scout System' taken in another direction, and made personal. They can be personal, instanced and viewable only to single players, or general to the game world.

They could manifest in myriad ways. Very similar to 'Mini Pets' as player owned, they ramble sweet nothings in your ear; or there could be wild wisps in them thar woods, that appear from thin air with whispers of warning. They can meow, tweet, bark, squeak, snuffle; ultimately they all communicate very useful information. So, whether for quests or karma, these lil buggers could serve to remove some of the "Traditional" and dated not so RP features in the MMO.

They smell karma from afar. They bate players to their lairs. They provide companionship in a very useful form - information. Just target and follow and soon you'll be there . . .

And, I bet you can think of one hundred other uses. (I smell a micro transaction)
