I played the Guild Wars 2 Demo at Gamescom today and couldn't help but notice that there is no option for walking in the game. I checked the controls and there simply is no toggle for walk/run to be found.

This was actually the first thing I did after logging in because to me this was a very important issue and I have to admit that I'm quite disappointed :( How come pretty much any older MMO has included this, but a game as new as GW2 is not able to do so? I mean no one is forced to walk if they don't want to, but I would want to.

I really really hope that this will be implemented into the game because as a long-time roleplayer being able to walk adds a lot more atmosphere to the game. It might seem like a "why bother" issue, but to me and many others this would be an incredibly important and such a simple feature.

Why shouldn't i be allowed to just walk if I want to? The animations are in the game already. NPCs can walk or run, so why is it forbidden for me as a player to do it?

I really would wish for this to be implemented! This is like my single biggest concern about the game at the moment, even if that may seem hard to believe, but as someone who would play it for atmosphere and roleplay (which you put so much effort into in all other aspects) I would really hate to have to always run around like a madman.

Also, you went through all the work of creating a limping animation for every character and piece of clothing, but a walking animation is too complex to do in time? I would think that walking is a much more natural and essential part of a realistic world than limping, and the reason you made a limping-animation would be to make the game look nice and realistic, right?

Maybe I am underestimating you all though and you lovely people have already planned to put it in the game for release, but it didn't make it into the demo just yet. In this case of course: nvm my suggestion and thanks!

Apart from that, awesome game! Loved the demo!
