I admit that I was spoiled by mail in WoW. I can't send an offline friend a message in Guild Wars. This makes hooking up later online very hard. I don't think adding mailbox is the best answer. If I had the ear of a GW programmer... I would put a new NPC or AI in each town and outpost. They would be called runners. If I need to give something or message an offline friend, I could pay a runner (50 to 100 gold) to take it to them. Then the next time my friend enters a town or outpost the runner would approach them with my message or item. It would add a realistic element to game as well as allowing the players to communicate better.
