Feedback:User/Ys Mist/Default Weapon Skills

Simply put, I don't like the idea that an Engineer can take a hammer and bash someones head in. I don't like the idea that a Bukah Warrior can't pick up a magical staff, and bash someones head in with it. But I really don't like the fact that casters are too incompetent to pick up a sword, and stab an enemy with the pointy end. So I would like to ask that weapons carry default skills for those not "trained" to use them.

Slashing Weapons[edit]

Even Einstein could pick up a sword and do at least 5 things with it: (1) Stab: Inflict damage. Causes deep wound if critical. (2) Slash: Inflict damage. Causes bleeding if critical. (3) Butt swipe: Knock the butt of your weapon on-top of your target. Inflict damage. Causes interrupt if critical. (4) Throw: Ranged attack. Inflict damage. (5) Block: Block an incoming attack.

Blunt Weapons[edit]

I'll include not only the mace and hammer, but the staff and scepter, the bow and the rifle as well. These weapon, in the hands of an untrained user, are essentially the same as any other blunt object. Though, you may be able to use them for one other thing: (1) Use: Use the special trait of the weapon. ("Hey look! This stick can shoot metal peanuts!") (2) Bash: Inflict damage. Inflict more damage if critical. (3) Swing: Inflict damage. interrupts if critical. (4) Poke: Wind the oncoming opponent by thrusting the weapon into him. Causes interrupt. (5) Deflect: Repel an oncoming attack. Inflict damage.

Why?[edit]

This idea could be suicide because it takes away half your profession based skills. But then I consider the fact that an Engineer can't do any good on the front lines, and not every person who wants to be an one wants to be stuck tending to his garden of lethal devices, he wants to pull out his hammer and teach intruders never to attack his happy place again! The caster is also highly restricted to ranged attack. But with either of these sets of skills, with a few utility skills he can pose a threat in a different way.

I would also like to add that this complements my other suggestion, "Crafting Enchanted Weapons", because it relies on giving weapons more passive, secondary traits. And I'll return to the Engineer with the hammer. If he were good enough a craftsman to make the hammer deal innate aoe lightning damage, he'd have compensated for the lack of profession based skills.
