I agree whole-heartedly that AI formations are needed. My only guess as to why this has not been implemented is that by doing so you potentially raise the value of AI and lower the value of a PUG. However even a simple "scatter" command that would send AI off in different directions (but still in the area) would be a huge help against AoE wipes. This NEEDS to happen YESTERDAY.. I'm getting a little fed up of being completely owned in various HM Missions/Areas, because the monsters use mass AOE damage. For example I was just in Gate of Pain, attacking the Tortureweb Dryders, when it hit my entire party with fireball for over 480 damage each.. complete party wipe and mission fail... If foes in HM can spread out, this NEEDS to be the default for heroes to. 86.17.72.80 22:14, 9 April 2010 (UTC)

A tab with a couple basic formations would be nice. One for spell casting players, one for melee players, and maybe one generalized for AoE dmg prevention. Ive tried out a couple flagging techniques for hero/henchmen.

  • just a spread straight line perpendicular to the foes your aggroing. No frontline/backline. Very successful at preventing h/h from rushing foward with their first spell and ending up standing on the same spot. Obviously hurts tanking options though.
  • high ar hero foward, a hero on either side slightly back and out (simple pyramid) with henchies and I in the middle
  • simple box with the two highest Ar heros foward, another hero forming a back corner, henchies on other back corner and I in the middle.
  • simple v-shape formation (like geese) with highest ar foward spreading out to the casters, with me most often in the middle area.

The biggest curse you will have as a caster is apon droping the first spell on a foe all the Ai casters on your team also run to the same spot to cast their first spell. This primes them for an AoE nuke. I almost Always use Hayda to pull or I will use a bow myself and run back past hayda. H/h generally wont cast any spells that target a foe untill you do or are taking dmg themselves. This tends to keep them in formation for a while. Justice 04:49, 6 October 2010 (UTC)
