Interesting, but so ripe for abuse I can't imagine it would ever make it into the game. -- FreedomBound 18:16, 21 September 2009 (UTC)
- You mean spamming? Or offensive language? C4K3 Talk 18:20, 21 September 2009 (UTC)
- I say both, plus offensive gesters, and other obsenity, etc. It would verily be abused. I often catch myself do /me , but glad I don't lol the actual game gives me other things to do. ♥ Ariyen ♀ 01:24, 22 September 2009 (UTC)
- Well I don't see spamming as a problem, people can always turn emote off--and for the offensive language people can always say that in regular chat aswell, we would just need the regular filter that applies in normal chat. I can see how you can make something sound worse with /me but I don't want to apply it to whispers or such C4K3 Talk 06:10, 22 September 2009 (UTC)
- I still see the /me more as a distraction for so many in the outposts, etc. than a helpful encouragement to get players to play the game and also it would take away from other emotes such as /cheer /roar /laugh , etc. and for the 'events' they have with those existing emotes in festivals. As people would type like /me cheers instead of /cheer in those events and get a negative. you'd hear complaints, etc. Such as the Halloween one (which is just a little over a month away) with mad king that he has you do the roar, etc. and rewards you if you use those emotes. Those who 'pretend' with the /me emote would get 'mad' and complain. I see more negative from it than good. I love the /me emote in general, (I use to irc chat a lot for a long while) but for an actual game, I'm against the idea as I use to be for it and my mind changed, not due to other players, but the understanding of much of the Gw universe (with calls and emails, etc.) ♥ Ariyen ♀ 07:04, 22 September 2009 (UTC)
