Flooms[edit]

Reducing SF's non-degen damage aspect makes it less viable, because no one casts SF once or twice - they cast it on recharge until they run out of energy (which is usually never), generally on more than one ele. — Raine Valen User Raine R.gif 15:35, 14 Jan 2012 (UTC)

That idea for Searing Flames was taking into consideration the ideas for HM degen. Other than that, I'd say it's the least important skill tweak I suggested here. Diogo da Silva 23:36, 15 January 2012 (UTC)

Stuff:

  • Phoenix isn't functionally different at 1.5s than it is at 2s: it's still outclassed by Fireball except in some gimmicks involving glyph of sacrifice or glyph of essence. It needs a rework.
  • Lightning Hammer isn't played because it does the same damage as Lightning Bolt. Rodgort's is big pressure damage on top of spike damage; Lightning Hammer doesn't offer that. It needs a rework, not a tweak, because it doesn't have a desirable functionality.
  • Lighting Orb doesn't need a buff. It was only out of play because Chain Lightning was so absurd (basically the same damage, but on 3 people. Yeah, that's cool). It's run again, now.
  • Magnetic Surge doesn't need a buff, either. As long as Obsidian Flame stays in its current state, it will be the go-to spike skill for earth eles because it's unconditional. Magnetic Surge needs a rework, or it becomes a duplicate skill.
  • Ebon Hawk doesn't need a longer casting time. It needs a longer recharge, so that condition removal becaomes a viable strategy for dealing with it. As it is, the rate at which Weakness can be applied is too fast for monks' energy to cope with. If the casting time IS increased, the damage should not be increased to compensate; earth eles do not need more spike skills.
  • Vapor Blade could use 1.5s without breaking anything.
  • Energy Blast is an effective change.
  • Your Attunement suggestions basically put the skills back to the level they used to be at.
  • Why do you want to nerf Glyph of Renewal?

I think Phoenix can work better than Fireball when used alongside the new Star Burst and Double Dragon, but the casting time hinders its usefulness. Ebon Hawk's higher casting time would make it easier to rupt and slightly easier to avoid, but I'll agree a higher recharge would be better. About E. Blast, what's the effective change, my proposal, or how it is now? And were the attunements used to be non-enchantments before? My G. of Renewal's recharge was a mistake, it's supposed to be a buff. Phoenix isn't going to be useful on its own for PBAOE builds until the casting time is 1s or 3/4, at which point the ranged component becomes too good of a spike skill.

I completely agree with Raine, i would also add: just kite Ebon Hawk or stoning to avoid KD, its kinda simple.
  • Vapor Blade is somehow critical for Snares in GvG again, but prot is able to prevent, so it should be okay at 15 energy
  • Energy Blast to much dam in dual E Spike at 12 recharge in GvG i think.
  • Glyph of Essence - sounds interesting
