I agree. I find it a bit intrusive that any random person can just put any of my character's names into the little box and they now know what to rag on me about for not having accomplished, yet. It's none of their business.Teddy Dan, yo. 05:36, 29 November 2010 (UTC)
- I've actually gotten a couple of PMs with unsolicited comments about my HoM. I found it extremely presumptuous, though the 'worst' one was wholly inoffensive. It's just obnoxious that a complete stranger is getting information that I didn't consent to sharing, implicitly or otherwise. That said, what's done is done. I'd appreciate the switch, if only because it's a gesture of commitment to behaving similarly in the future, but the information is already out there. MA Anathe 06:07, 29 November 2010 (UTC)
And what would be your suggestion for how I can "allow" friends to check it out?
- you could just have an account preferences option which allows everyone, how likely is it that someone else will try at the specific time you tell your friends to check out your character. i was thinking the same the other day, having such info public could lead to an increase in attempted account sales (and hence more people getting scammed) as people make offers to buy characters with lots of HOM points etc by messaging said characters in-game.
