I agree with what Failtier said, however I think a proper solution would be to introduce a simple "FX slider" in options, rather than making effects more transparent and whatnot.

This would allow any player to control the ammount of particle effects he/she wants to see. Possible examples for slider stages would include, "very few effects"; "few effects"; "normal"; "verbose" etc. This is up to you.

The overwhelming particle effects are the only real issue I see with casual gameplay at this time. Good luck and may you bring a quality product!

For me selecting transparency (30 to 80% scale?) would be better than selecting how many animations I want to see. How would anet decide which animations to show and which to hide? The player might miss an important animation in battle.

Maybe the animations YOU cause, and the animations someone (ally or foe) causes on YOU, could be strong, but other animations could be more transparent? Hmm... Lorazcyk 00:47, 8 June 2012 (UTC)
