Feedback talk:User/Frizz/Random Encounters
I don't really like the idea of it being totally controlled like that, the randomness would make the game more realistic. If a little village is attacked by an army their probably not going to be lucky enough to have their own army if people just hanging around.the more likely thing to happen is that they call everybody in the area, npc or not, (probably only about three people and the rest npc's) to defend the city. They would then send messages out to find help, they would obviously get to the closer places first. And find more people to help. Meanwhile the first people are trying to hold the enemy off until help arrives, if none arrive then either those three people die and the village is lost or by some miracle the the three actually manage to hold them off, in which case they will gain special treatment whenever they enter that village. On top of this the chances are if the village was being attacked it happened next to a border, was at some strategically helpful place or was a wealthy place all of which would attract players as well.
So I think that the random events should be random but thy should also make sense. I like the idea of random events changing the world even when I'm not on but I can also see water monsters attacking me in the desert which would not be good. Events should only happen in certain places but should not be the same thing over and over again.--121.222.63.16 21:45, 30 April 2010 (UTC)
- Ah I see what you mean, Although I didn't meant the interactions between NPC's to be in this idea.. (army -> village) but rather (army -> player). But what you say might be able to make the idea a bit more broader though. ALso I eant the encounter much more on a smaller scale. So whole armies and villages weren't involved. :) It was more meant as small scale attacks like getting ambushed. or Getting stopped by brigands on a bridge. The Controlled fact was more that these won't happen all the time. Like you get 20 encounters in the woods of spiders/ambushes in one go because this would just be mere annoying and unrealistic. I will implement some idea's like this though I think. (I still need to make the thing a bit more comprehensible i think. Im not that good with it ;p) (Frizz 16:23, 6 May 2010 (UTC))
- Well erm this event system is pretty much the whole thing I described lol. Im not sure if it's a suggestion now. xD More like a prediction but other that what they did is better than what I suggested. cool! :P(Frizz 01:31, 13 May 2010 (UTC))
