Interesting. Is it your intent that this profession-specific resurrection ability replaces the current ability of all players to revive any downed or defeated player? If so, I'm not sure this will find wide acceptance. The reason being that I don't see players welcoming a penalty for being revived. They'll already have a penalty in the form of only 25% of their health on revival in the mechanic's current incarnation.

However, I could see it working this way instead:

Players have their standard revival ability that is common to everyone. It heals a downed or defeated player at X points of health per second until the downed or defeated player is revived. It's slow, but there's no penalty associated with it (other than the 25% health mentioned above).

Then, players also have the profession-specific resurrection ability you discussed in your original suggestion. The advantage is it will revive or resurrect a downed or defeated player, respectively, much faster than the standard revive ability. The penalty, though, for resurrecting more rapidly is the player now has one of the conditions you detailed (and still the 25% health as per normal revival, to keep things balanced; or maybe even lower health, like 15%).

It then becomes a matter of players having to make strategic decisions; revive/resurrect slowly so as to avoid giving the revived player a condition or revive/resurrect quickly to get them back into the fight faster (albeit with a condition). Guild Wars 3 perhaps 18:28, 18 May 2012 (UTC)

I don't see the point since anybody can revive anybody. Agaetis RosAssassin 21:23, 14 June 2012 (UTC)
