Feedback talk:User/Frozen Ice Prince/Ingame Voice Chat
Hrm, well, personally I wouldn't have a problem with this, as long as I don't have to listen to players 24/7, lol. However, I do see a problem here regarding the .. uhm.. interface.. And by that I mean, you already have so many shortcuts for guild/team/all/world/trade/pm chat, that adding more of these could just create chaos. Unless you talk according to the kinda chat you're already on.. And how would you know when someone's talking in guild chat or team chat..or even private chat. Like if you turn team chat off, just to hear what guild's saying, you might miss vital team info and vise versa. --Balthazad
there you have a point, I didn't noticed that, maybe a option that can be selected before a mission entry ore explorable area; as well as a guild and ally option you can personally select but then its chaos again :( but it would be awesome ingame...--Frozen Ice Prince 20:35, 20 January 2011 (UTC)
What if there were different "tabs" that you could disable accordingly. Like an all tab that is completely open voice chat, but the volume that you hear a player speak goes down the farther they are away from you. It would be useful in dynamic events, making it easier for players to communicate. It would also give voice chat a more "realistic" feel. Of course a mute function would be necessary and it would need to be obvious who was speaking ( maybe a microphone or stereo symbol above one's head). Then a group/party only tab and a guild/alliance tab in which the volume is not determined by range (a symbol could appear next to the persons name in the party/guild interface when they are speaking). All of these chats can be disabled and it would have to be easy to do so. I think that in-game voice chat is a good idea for two reasons: First of all, in the middle of a heated battle it is definitely alot easier to speak than type. Secondly, From my experiences there are alot of players who have trouble setting up third party programs and you can't be with the players to explain setting the programs up to them so they end up not being able to participate in certain things. Also since I am guessing alot of the people you'll be playing with will be completely random in dynamic events, I don't think any of them will have the time to ask, "Hey whats your third party voice program?" "the log in information?" and "Hold on a sec let me alt-tab real quick and plug that list of numbers in." -- Don The Donutmaker 00:03, 15 March 2011 (UTC)
- personally it wouldn't be too much of a problem to just tell them apart when your talk to your guild a lot you start to recognize their voices and when you form a new "party" it will be unfamiliar voices. but i wouldn't mind being able to mute certain ones when i wanted to.AurenXneruA 14:41, 28 March 2011 (UTC)
