There is of course one aspect of GW where grouping is the norm: speed clears. They are a bit of a special case, though. -- Hong 03:20, 14 March 2011 (UTC)

Give it some time[edit]

As you note, it's two weeks since the changes. The community hasn't re-established an equilibrium that allows us to know what is going to be standard practice going forward. Give it some time.

  • Everyone who was close to GWAMM obviously wants to pursue Survivor or Drunkard to hit their 30 titles; those considerations trump everything else but eventually, the backlog of near-GWAMM players will diminish.
  • 7 heroes (and mercs) are new and players who used to h/h are going to experiment. Those who might not have h/h'd are also going to try things out. Once the novelty wears out, some folks will be happy w/7 heroes and others will be more interested in PUGs again.
  • Lots of people have gone back to pre for their LDoA (and, at most, you can only group two people there).

In my own alliance, roughly about the same proportion of people are going it alone as before the update. A few are pursuing Survivor w/7 heroes on veteran toons (because they feel it's less of a burden on guildies), but most of those heavily experimenting with 7 heroes are the same folks who were using h/h before. Lots of people are still forming within-the-alliance PUGs (although some of these groups are focused on Pre).

Finally, people haven't gotten used to starting to look for a group in EB, so it's hard to say whether there is more or less interest in forming player groups. I think the new system deserves at least 3 months since introduction before we call this an issue that ANet has to mitigate.

(If they had the chance to redo the release, I wish they would have introduced EB alone...waited a month for things to stabilize and then added in the title reconciliations...and waited another month for 7 heroes. It's a lot of great new content and very few people have assimilated to the new world order.)

Much Hardmode stuff is way easier in groups then alone, also players are able to use PvE only skills. Human SoS SpiritSpammers are way better then heros, also its much more useful to play with front/midline + midline/backline with at least 2 players, instead of balling in hardmode. --Kali Shin Shivara 05:24, 23 March 2011 (UTC)

We're now up to 35,000 minutes of /favor. In hard mode, I'm also rolling through areas with 7 heroes where I was struggling before: EotN vanquishing, all the dungeons, the Desolation, etc. Heck, I rolled through Vloxen Excavations HM without even bothering with Frozen Soil. The issue isn't really whether it's easier with 2 players, but whether you actually need to get that second player; close enough is good enough for most people. -- Hong 05:31, 23 March 2011 (UTC)

um i agree that there needs to be a change/incentive for getting players to gorup, less of the play the game alone this may not be the right way to do it, but yes, sumthing shud be done (174.28.127.194 04:04, 22 September 2011 (UTC))
