Where did you see that you will have to pay to transfer stuff? I have another remark about transfers. What happens if you add new stuff in GW1 after having already transferred stuff to GW2? Could it be transfered later? Agaetis RosAssassin 14:49, 12 October 2009 (UTC)

Sorry but I'll try to answer for him. It's because we had a discussion about how things would be transferred to GW2 through HoM, and we fiqured that armor would most likely be transferred by unlocking the armor trader that sold the armor in GW2, his suggestion is that it instead of that unlocks a quest that will reward the armor instead of having to pay for it. And the second question, if I understand it right, each elite armor added to your HoM will unlock a specific quest to get a elite set of armor in GW2, so if you say had norn before GW2 is released, you will get a quest in GW2 to get norn armor there, and if you then later add asura armor to your HoM you will unlock a differant quest in GW2 to get the GW2 armor there, that's how we wanted it to be C4K3 User C4K3 Signature.jpg Talk 14:57, 12 October 2009 (UTC)
What C4K3 said pretty much sums it up. --I Sasuke Uhchicha I 00:09, 17 October 2009 (UTC)
Just to clarify, when GW2 is released and you link that account to your GW1 account for the purposes of HoM transfer, you can still unlock HoM achievements afterwards and it will update the rewards available on the GW2 end. (Xu Davella 01:21, 23 November 2009 (UTC))

I'd like to add to your suggestion: Not only would I like to see a special elite armor being unlocked by a special quest you get from having filled the HoM, I'd like a similar thing for EACH shrine. So the armor would come from the completed Resilience shrine, a special minipet would be available by doing a special quest, unlocked by the Devotion shrine, A special sidekick hero from the Friendship shrine, A special weaponset/skin from the Valor shrine, and perhaps a special something from the Honor shrine too (a special mount? title?) I personally do not like the idea of "items" transferring from GW1 to GW2. Why should someone be rewarded for playing endless hours in GW1 in a brand new game? What if arenanet does such a good job at GW2 that many new players start to play that did not previously have GW1? Are the players who played GW1 going to be "elite" because they played the prequel? Just seems silly to me to be honest. The Hall of Monuments in GW1 is a great way for other people to see how well you have done in the game, like a status symbol. GW2 is a brand new game and players should be treated as new players whether or not they played GW1. I have played 2,862 hours, full HoM, 23 max titles, yadda yadda, and expect to receive nothing in GW2. I want to play it like a new game, not have hand outs. I think people are expecting too much from the Hall of Monuments and are going to be disappointed when GW2 comes out. Unindal 22:21, 3 June 2010 (UTC)

I agree with Unindal on this; I have only played 1400 hours, dont have a full HoM, but do have maxed titles. But, the way some people (some of the guild members / friends) are preparing their HoM for GW2 is ridiculous. I also thought what about the people that did not play GW1, starting in GW2 they will be upset about the 'hand-outs'. I think it shouldnt be 100s of uniques (armor / weapons / etc), I personally will be happy with 1 unique item (whatever its going to be) (THAT IS NOT SUPERIOR STATS WISE THAN INGAME ITEMS), if I get all things 'handed-out' on quests; I feel in no way interested in getting the INGAME special / unique items that will be available. I want to have fun playing, work for the stuff; earn it. --ChameleonDevil 07:35, 10 June 2010 (UTC)
Well, just to remind you two, what about the pre-order items? You get a perfect item that you don't have to work to get. What about the GOTY edition items as well? Maybe you forgot those, but they aren't available to everyone. I believe it was stated that the HoM transfer would be like the pre-order items, etc. --72.192.241.227 19:17, 18 June 2010 (UTC)
