Hear, hear[edit]
If they cannot allow everyone to open chests (and reward chests) simultaneously, how about offering slightly better odds for the 7th and 8th to open them? I don't mind that much among friends or guildies (since everyone is generally patient), but it removes some of the fun from PUGging, since the first to open will often go running off while 5-8 are still waiting around. (Let's remove one of the excuses for Kilroying, eh?) — Tennessee Ernie Ford (TEF) 23:58, 13 July 2011 (UTC)
- I think there's already some superstition about when you open the chest. People I've done dungeons with fiercely defend the position that the first opener is never lucky, for instance. The problem being that they could never tell you if 7 or 8 was the best position to open from, unless they added another mechanic to make it fair choosing, so for all we know, that is already in place. As far as the suggestion goes, there are areas that already spawn a ridiculous amount of items. Because of this, the end chests that only spawn a couple items could easily(?) spawn simultaneously, such as opening some unlocked chests can still assign items to people. Another improvement could just be improving the time for the chest respawn between openings. --Axis 02:23, 14 July 2011 (UTC)
- There's all sorts of superstitions around drops...and almost none of them are based on anything close to evidence. I doubt very, very much if the current odds differ for any of the ppls opening the chest. I think it's far more likely that the chest contents are assigned when you enter the zone (rather than when you unlock them)...in which case order cannot possibly matter.
- Regardless, I agree that even reducing the animation time would be appreciated by 1000s of non-farmers (and of course, it would please speed-clearing teams to no end, too). — Tennessee Ernie Ford (TEF) 02:39, 14 July 2011 (UTC)
