Feedback talk:User/Lia Moa/Jade Quarry
The only time my ranger does not get attacked back is when he is firing from above his targets. In those cases, the reason they don't attack is that they can't, due to elevation changes. NOTE: Using a flat or longbow will cause only the archers to fire back if we're on the same level. But, having your buddy getting skewered should cause at least a little skittishness in the other guards. :)
However, perhaps they could "scatter" better when they're getting attacked by arrows for which they can't "see" the shooter. An experienced human player, when being shot at from a location where he can't shoot back will simply start kiting. Perhaps quarry defenders should have a chance at doing this.
But, please note that when I kill the quarry defenders, I do it with a burning, poisoned, and bleeding combination. I only have to hit each foe three times in order to kill them. So, it really doesn't matter with a seasoned ranger build.
Perhaps a way would be akin to real-life bowhunting, where the animal will "jump the string". This happens because the animal can hear the twang of the bowstring significantly before the arrow actually arrives, unless at VERY close range (10 yards or less). In GW, maybe there could be a factor added when an arrow is loosed, there is a small probability that the target will hear it, and jump over a bit. The problem is that most bowhunters know about this "skill" that their quarry has, and compensate by shooting above and forward of where they actually want to shoot. Rangers in the game should be expected to do no less, I would think. Daddicus 06:03, 2 August 2011 (UTC)
