Feedback talk:User/Phineas/Choose to display any mini-pet dedidcated to your account
In one of the updates on WoW, they added a minipet window which holds minipets, so they no longer take up inventory space. It works well on WoW, but their minipets are binded to their characters when they get them (as quest rewards or what not). Since Guild Wars minipets are traded frequently, including dedicated minis, it's probably not the best idea to do this. However, I would like the addition of an extra inventory window, which is exclusive to minipets. For Guild Wars 2, though, I think it will be closer to your suggestion, as I have a dedicated Asura minipet for all my characters, but only one shows up in my Hall of Monuments, when showing my account's accomplishments. - I guess, FloppyJoe, you're saying it's "not the best idea" because it will affect player-based mini-pet prices? I admit that I don't go in for the mini-pet trading. I dedicate any new one I get in my 'main' char's HoM and then bin it as it is a non-effective item taking up a precious space, but I would be grateful for the ability to choose which one of those I could display. Given that this idea is based on only mini-pets that the individual player has dedicated it should not affect the player-based price for undedicated minis, and the price for ded's is already low. This system could see more people binning dedicated minis and thus push prices back up for that dedicated market. Who knows? | phineas | 20:50, 12 November 2009 (UTC)
Many people have wanted a "mini-pet slot" in a character's inventory for many reasons, including those you've mentioned. I never saw what the problem was for it. However, I disagree on having it rely on dedicated mini-pets. That would, in a very detrimental way, further push dedication of minipets and cause their prices to raise more. --Emkyooess 00:21, 13 November 2009 (UTC)
- Neat idea, but not with this implementation. I have 60 pets dedicated on my monument, yet still own onlyl about 20 of them. Dedicated minipets can be resold to others, so all of a sudden the very same mini can be displayed by the dedicator and by the purchaser of the ded pet. Removing the pet from inventory when dedicated is also definitely not an option. A different idea is a separate mini pet storage pane in storage. Anything that's in it can be displayed by any character on the account through the shortcut you suggested. These minis can then be taken out, sold, traded, etc., but only the ones currently in the pane can appear in the shortcut. This pane can be purchased with zcoins a la Heavy Equipment pack, and don't scream that this would be expensive, you only need to buy it once. On that note, mini pets are a real problem for storage, so this would be nice. Rose Of Kali 18:06, 13 November 2009 (UTC)
- Indeed, that's the suggestion that should be made. Let's get a minipet storage already! --MushaTalk 00:52, 18 November 2009 (UTC)
- Phineas, may I incorporate your shortcut idea into a new feedback page with my storage pane? It will be posted as "collaborative effort" with a link here. Rose Of Kali 12:18, 18 November 2009 (UTC)
