Discussion[edit]

You'll find that a great many PvP players use PvE characters. User Raine R.gif is for Raine, etc. 12:51, 1 October 2009 (UTC)

I do know that, but it is better imo than the current situation. As I said in the first solution, it could be made that the group leader decides about the whole groups situation, so people coming into groups as a PvE character would be changed to PvP mode. Or instead just look if the group contains any PvP character in which case the whole group switches to PvP mode (because you won't be able to go anywhere else than PvP with those characters anyway).
The two solutions I gave were just two possibilities of how it could be done, without spending too many time and effort on it (for example for buttons similar to NM/HM you would need to change the interface to display it, create icons and such - but of course it would be possible and probably also a very good idea how to solve it). What I basically just want say with my suggestion is that the current situation is not good and it could be made better for both PvE and PvP players; and I actually don't care how it is done, I just want it fixed somehow in a way that will please both sides. My two suggestions were just examples how this could be done. poke | talk 14:50, 1 October 2009 (UTC)
I just meant to say that your first suggestion seems like it would be problematic. Or, moreover, would definitely be problematic.
The first suggestion does seem like a good idea. Having the toggle would make such things as the Master of the Isle unnecessary (we've walked through the portal SO MANY TIMES thinking, "hey, let's test this spike!", then found it to work extremely well, only to realize later that, oops, we were using PvE skills), too, essentially solving a blanket problem with one fix.
