This sounds incredibly epic. What region would it be/take place in? The Battle Isles, I assume? --Gah_ 16:25, 4 September 2009 (UTC)

A PvP version of this would be cool, too.
You could have, say, a team of 8 fight against constantly-entering groups of opposing players, who would enter in greater numbers and at higher frequencies over time. Perhaps it could start with random single entrants opposing, then progress toward larger and larger group entrants opposing.
Or you could have two teams of, say, 24 (the maximum number of players hosted on a PvP instance so far) in a perpetual duel, with new players replacing those who DP out or resign. It'd have to be staged on a very large map, and there'd have to be some mechanic to balance the playing field so that the battle can continue indefinitely. To address both of these, stage the battles on PvE maps with the standing Resurrection Shrines acting as Capture Points. Players would gain faction proportional to the number of points they held (this encourages teams to actually hold them), while holding fewer points would confer inversely proportional advantageous effects similar to, say, Battle Cry, in order to help the losing team regain level ground.
Of course, there'd have to be something to cycle players, so I suggest causing players with 60% DP to be moved out of the instance and replaced with new players.
I've long been wanting a PvP format that was a continuous brawl, and I'd love to see something like this implemented. ♥ User Raine R.gif Raine - talk 22:00, 4 September 2009 (UTC)
wait for buildwars2 for masspvp. atm this would turn out like a giant clusterfuck of terrible 1vs1 sins running 1,2,3,4,5,6,7,8 builds... but in PvE this could actually be pretty awesome tbh. --Cursed Angel Q.Q 22:44, 4 September 2009 (UTC)
i only read the first half of the sugestion but it sounds very fun to me. i remember doing mirza's last stand, and although it wasn't the nearly non-stop waves discussed here, it was still one of the most fun times i've had in my 3.5 years of playing GW. so this just sounds great.Akbaroth 14:16, 12 September 2009 (UTC)
