I agree that most of these skills need an update, but most of these are way overpowered. Passive attack buffs like your Vow of Strength really don't belong in PvP and the dervish doesn't lack in AoE damage ability as it is. Also would stack with the passive attack bonus of critical scythe sins and all those AoE damage enchantment spells. Mystic Sandstorm recharges shortly, hits for around 100-120 earth damage at attribute 9 and has the great bonus of triggering the Aoe damage from another enchantment on you. Staggering Force basically makes sure that any AoE damage like the one above cannot be escaped from. I don't have a problem with Dust Cloak other than that it can be maintained all the time. I'm not sure what to think about Mirage Cloak. I don't like the idea of AoE dazed but multiple casters don't often stand next to each other and the enchantment runs the risk of being removed early and wasted. Also, I didn't find anything wrong with the old mirage cloak given it's energy cost. Aura of Thorns will be used like Apply Poison except for another AoE snare to kill stuff with AoE damage enchantments. Grenth's Aura I like for removing enchantments like Guardian either with the initial touch spell or by forcing it's end effect. Consider increasing the energy cost. Lyssa's Haste is fine as it is and we don't need a fast recharging version of Serpent's Quickness as it stands. The change to Mystic Twister is a little silly because in most instances where it is used, it would end up doing the same amount of damage it does now. Rypofalem 16:09, 7 November 2009 (UTC)
Yeah, not sure I agree with all of these.
  • Vow of Strength: This is already a powerful passive buff, just the condition thingy ruins it. However, your suggestion looks a bit too powerful, and also strikes me as a bit clunky. It doesn't really have a clear aim and doesn't really fit the name (I'm thinking of the last clause there).
  • Mystic Sandstorm: This looks pretty nice, though the synergy with Sand Shards might be a bit much, and with an enchantment loss this would have a recharge of 10, but looks cool anyway.
  • Staggering Force: An enchantment spell with a touch-range target is kinda odd, especially for a derv. The end clause is also a bit odd. Should be more useful, though (though might it make Enfeeble/Enfeebling Blood obselete?).
  • Dust Cloak, Aura of Thorns, Grenth's Aura: Same as above.
  • Mirage Cloak: Currently this is an expensive but very useful skill. It's also nice and simple. Your suggestion looks pretty cool, but the daze would be tricky to apply, and since this looks more like a self-defense skill for a caster they're less likely to be running to other casters to daze them.
  • Lyssa's Haste: This version looks nice but as mentioned above, it'll end up just as a slightly different Serpent's Quickness. Also, I'm not sure how useful it would be since you need to keep your energy up, which makes spamming hard.
  • Mystic Twister: I guess this would be a mild improvement since you don't need to stack masses of enchantments up if you target an unenchanted foe. It could be quite powerful in the right instances, though.
Just some thoughts, anyway. Some of these certainly look interesting, but I'm not sure how they would all work out. 188.74.101.228 15:47, 8 November 2009 (UTC)
Thanks for your feedback. I've changed Vow of Strength to be a powerful version of a conjure, with a pretty potent downside. No casting spells means no cover enchants (or enchants to fuel enchant removing skills like Pious Assault, unless added by an ally), no Heart of Fury, and no Attacker's insight, which is a fair trade for hitting every attack with +30 plus bonus damage. I feel Mirage Cloak will be a crutch for Mind Blast Eles, now that Distortion has been hit a bit, and it's too costly for most other situations. Conviction and Mental Block do its job better in PvE, so why not change it up? Lyssa's Haste, I feel, is awkward as it is. Too short a duration and too little a speed boost for a 1/4 cast spell. It would be plenty useful for those who use it wisely... it's not about spamming, it's about working within your limits to take advantage of a benefit. You could bundle it with Avatar of Lyssa, or you could fit yourself with Radiant armor or energy mods. --Skye Marin 17:59, 8 November 2009 (UTC)
Mind Blast eles don't use Mirage Cloak. Pika Fan 18:01, 8 November 2009 (UTC)
They could use mirage cloak if they wanted to. It doesn't protect as much as the old Distortion but it's more energy efficient than the old distortion was, gives them a nice cover enchantment that can be instantly reapplied, and synergies well with Mystic Regeneration for decent defense while they spam fire magic. Except no one uses it, because condition immunity and 135 hit point heal that can target allies are better choices overall on a split. Pika Fan 18:13, 8 November 2009 (UTC)
True. Rypofalem 18:28, 8 November 2009 (UTC)
Vow of strength only needs revert + isaacs suggestions are quite nice ... and 10 energy derv enchaments isnt too good idea they dont have unlimited energy .... like assassins and rangers... 89.166.101.7 19:07, 8 November 2009 (UTC)
