Feedback talk:User/Steel Legend/Guild Wars 2 Character Creation and "Full" Servers: A Potentially Devastating Scenario

Excellent points and definitely a potential issue. In addition to all of the possible suggestions for solutions, I offer another:

Allow players from different worlds to swap with one another free of charge.

For example, Player A wanted to create their character on the Jade Quarry server but it's full. They create their character on the Fissure of Woe server as a temporary holding spot. Player B, who had earlier created a character on the Jade Quarry server, wants to transfer to Fissure of Woe. Through a match-making-type interface created specifically for this purpose, Players A and B swap places with one another, each winding up on the server they want to be on.

Now you're confusing the hell outta me...[edit]

When has it ever been or ever been said that your account can have character A on world X and character B on world Y? If this is possible I have no knowledge of it whatsoever, from my understanding, YOUR ACCOUNT IS ON A WORLD (SERVER) NOT EACH INDIVIDUAL CHARACTER. PLEASE point me in the right direction if there is any evidence that I am wrong in my understanding. --Skekzyz 03:38, 16 August 2012 (UTC)

I believe your assessment is correct, Skekzyz; a World/server is account-based rather than character-based. Even taking that into account, I do see the OP's point of friends and guildmates being unable to play WvWvW together due to Worlds/servers filling up. I know it's going to be important to a lot of people to be able to play on the same World/server as one another. Hopefully there will be some solution for this while still maintaining balance between Worlds/serrvers in WvWvW. Guild Wars 3 perhaps 04:22, 16 August 2012 (UTC)
