I think those are some great suggestions :) You made them clear to understand, also thanks to the images you added.
I just think you should have made your 3rd and especially your 4th point a seperate suggestion. It looks like there's much different work involved for these. And then you could also give each suggestion a more informative title (and you could still add a link to the related suggestions on each respective page). —ZerphaThe Improver 14:52, 14 February 2012 (UTC)
- Thanks, that mock-up image took a lot of work to get right but I knew if I didn't make it, no one would have a clue what I meant. :P The so-called Template Manager has gotten on my nerves from the very first time I used it. There's just no manage in it, and it's so bad you can't even really look at your templates in there. Someone dropped the ball designing that thing, it's like it's only half-done. But you really think I should split this? I kind of figured since it was all changes to the same UI panel, it should all be contained in the same suggestion. -- Tekn0mancer (Talk) 16:29, 14 February 2012 (UTC)
- Yeah those images look like they took some work, but they're pretty good :) I also get a little annoyed sometimes when i actually want to manage and compare my skill sets. My skill folder is pretty clustered up. That's basically my own fault, but also because this panel makes it a chore to change something about it.
- You're right that the suggestions are all about the same panel and share the same goal. Therefore some might also disagree with me. Yet i think even this one panel has multiple facets that can be adressed with seperate suggestions - which as i said before can still be noticed to belong together by adding a note on each respective page. More specific titles might also be more attractive to some (like "Tempalte Manager: Loading skills", "Hero tabs for loading skills" or something like that. Some might also agree with you in point 1-3 while they find point 4 to be too intricate (in comparison to other suggestions) for the Life Team to realize, while others would mainly want to see that one done. Then again all of your tweaks aren't that far-reaching that they couldn't be discussed on a single talk page, so i might be wrong with my opinion on splitting them up after all. I think it's merely a matter of taste in this case :P —ZerphaThe Improver 16:59, 14 February 2012 (UTC)
- Part of it was me thinking actual process: it seems to me that most of this would involve largely copying-and-pasting existing code from location A into new location B (especially in 1&2). I see even the new panel as just a Frankenstein's monster of specific subroutines copied from other panels being cobbled together in a new place: Add one more tab to a panel that already has two, copy some code from external panels A & B, plug them into the new tab #3, done. :) I'm oversimplifying of course, but I doubt it's by much. The rename-highlight thing is an underlying explorer.exe function in Windows, so they probably just need to switch some flag from "disable" to "enable." I can't imagine that's too difficult, since most Windows-based software does it. I'll leave this as a sort of "container quest" for now, but if others think it should be split, I'll go ahead and break it up. -- Tekn0mancer (Talk)
- If you are right (which doesn't seem too unlikely) i overrated the work required to do and all of your suggestions are doable without too much trouble afterall :P —ZerphaThe Improver 19:02, 14 February 2012 (UTC)

- Yes, please. At worst, ANet should update the template manager to be more like other file load/save/manage interfaces. At best, this should inspire them to improve upon that model. – Tennessee Ernie Ford (TEF) 19:14, 14 February 2012 (UTC)
