There shouldnt be any bigger problem, they may be a bit weaker, but seem to be far away from being useless. Weak means compared to similiar skills from professions (Compare [1] with [2]). On the one side are there never complete identical professionskills and sometimes not only skills with nearly same effects (Battle Roar on Necromancer), on the other side exist may a better version on a profession, but never twice (Combinition of Battle Roar and "For Great Justice!" for a even stronger fury and might support). --217.228.218.63 21:41, 22 June 2012 (UTC)

Racial Skills being weaker will not be utilized[edit]

In response to the suggestion that while racial skills may be weaker, they will be used in builds, I must disagree. The builds that will be utilized by players will always be the ones that provide the best dps, conditions, or boons, and also stacking power. While the suggestion is there that the skills could be employed in tandem with other skills, the odds are they will not. This would be even more true of the elite racial skill. Unless the ArenaNet team deliberately utilizes a formula for making the skills beneficial eaqual to other skills of the same kind, which they seem to be avoiding (and thus my suggestion), then people will just use the skills that are better (with their other skills). I want to see them avoid that dilemma. The Anet team has made it clear that they will not unbalance the game, so the racial skills were seen as doing that, and thus nerfed down. But I do not believe this has to be the case, if other skill designs are contemplated - thus my suggestion to balance the skills as useful alternatives to other skills, or to make a special slot (and keep the skills weaker). --The preceding unsigned comment was added by 216.8.172.7 (talk) at 14:17, 24 June 2012 (UTC).

In regards to racial skills, the weakness of the skills will cause most players to spec their skills to other more potent skills. That is just the way it is. Unless the racial skills can add something to the build that is unique, most players will ignore them, unless, they are made to be equivalent to the profession skills. I know it will happen, because no one ever specs their build to be weak. They look for the greatest possible advantage in dps, condition, boon, etc. --The preceding unsigned comment was added by 216.8.172.7 (talk) at 13:32, 24 June 2012 (UTC).
