Rejected policy proposal

This page is a rejected policy proposal.

It has been unable to gain consensual support or it was replaced by an improved proposal.

The Guild Wars Wiki aims to document the game of Guild Wars. As such, it is important to note that content quality and correctness take precedence over the way that content is presented.

New content[edit]

You are encouraged to add content that you notice to be missing. If you are not certain where or how to add something, add it anyway. It will be moved and adjusted by other editors to better fit within the context of the page. Given the size of the wiki, the style and formatting for consistency will not always comply with the formatting policies. But all users are encouraged to read through and understand the relevant style and formatting policies.

That is not to say you are allowed to add anything. Please verify that the information you are about to add is correct and not already in a more obvious location. Redundancy for certain important details is acceptable, but in general, there is no need to repeat a particular note if a simple wikilink will suffice.

Presentation complexity[edit]

Style and formatting gives a sense of consistency to the pages within this wiki. Avoid overly complex presentation styles. A simple information box that floats to the right side of the screen is fine - they're extremely useful, and contained within a template. But avoid using HTML or CSS for unnecessary formatting, such as using a different font color, special backgrounds, or highly decorated tables. A simple page is beneficial to both users (consistency and continuity) and editors (less arcane syntax and formatting simplifies editing).
