Eye of the North is live!
The new Guild Wars expansion, Eye of the North, has gone live, and players are logging into the game in astounding numbers. If you haven't purchased Eye of the North, you can do so through the in-game store or at PlayNC.com. And, if you purchase the expansion through one of these sites before Noon Pacific time on October 31, 2007, you'll be eligible to earn the Bonus Mission Pack (see below for more details)!

Guild Wars Bonus Mission Pack Promotion
For a limited time, when you spend $29 USD (€26/£17) or more in the Guild Wars In-Game Store or through the PlayNC Store, you'll receive a Guild Wars Bonus Mission Pack for free!
The Guild Wars Bonus Mission Pack will allow you to play through four pivotal moments in Guild Wars history.
• Earn unique rewards as you go face-to-face with Palawa Joko and his undead army as one of the key figures in the Battle of Jahai.
• Experience part of Cantha's turbulent past as you witness the violent Tengu Wars.
• Learn firsthand how the White Mantle rose to power in Kryta.
• Finally, discover what became of Gwen after the Charr invaded her home and the Searing destroyed everything she'd ever known.

How to Qualify
Spend a total of $29 USD (€26/£17) or more in the Guild Wars In-Game Store or purchase and activate any product worth $29 USD (€26/£17) through the PlayNC online store, between Noon Pacific time July 5, 2007 and Noon Pacific time October 31, 2007. You can spend the required amount all at once, or over time; your purchases will be tracked and once you meet the requirement, you will qualify to receive the Bonus Mission Pack!

The Details
The Bonus Mission Pack will release in November. This promotion is non-transferable and is limited to one per account. The Bonus Mission Pack will only be available to the exact account that fulfills this promotion in the in-game store or the exact account on which a qualifying Guild Wars product is activated that has been purchased in the PlayNC store.

Guild Wars $100,000 Tournament Series Continues
Congratulations to the July champions, Virtual Dragons (GvG) and X Ekelon X (1v1), our first repeating champions! They have won their share of over $10,000 in prizes awarded each month. Learn more about the Guild Wars $100,000 Tournament Series, including details about the monthly tournaments, payouts, schedules, and player and guild eligibility. Also watch for the Xunlai Tournament House to return! You can log in to game, predict how you think the top 8 will finish in the GvG and 1v1 monthly championships and, if you're correct, win your own Tournament Reward Points to unlock cool PVP items!

Community Contest Updates
A wealth of entries flowed into the ArenaNet offices upon announcement of the 2007 version of the Guild Wars Brand the Bosses Contest. Players submitted a total of more than 7,500 monster monikers, from which the Guild Wars team selected ten winners, twenty honorable mentions, and seventy finalists. You'll face a number of monsters with wonderful, fan-created names in Guild Wars: Eye of the North, including Molotov Rocktail, Johan the Oxflinger, and Gordam Griefgiver, to mention but a few. As the season turns toward autumn, we are preparing to launch the Guild Wars Halloween Art Contest. This popular holiday contest—now in its third year—invites players from around the world to use any sort of media-writing, drawing, home decoration, costume making—to get into the spirit of the season with a theme. We'll have more news on the contest in September, but in the meantime, check out last year's contest results here.
