OP IMO,its devastating against MMS! [zarcazm]Oni 16:28, 14 May 2008 (UTC)

If they're gonna make this an ANTI-Minion skill, it needs to hit all nearby foes if the target is undead, and repeat its effect. this will literally result in a mass banishment of All Minions/Undead! Or just make it hit nearby foes if the target is undead. If i point my hand at you and say "I BANISH YOU!!" It will probably annihilate your undead buddies near you. And please change its PvP functionality so its PvP friendly. This spell fails against any of its 5 en dmg counterparts, and is barely unique. It may deal armor ignore, but at 10 s recharge, 3 flares on even a warrior quickly outdoes this spell. Phill Gaston 12:23, 16 June 2008 (UTC)

Make it "This instantly recharges if target foe is under the effects of a Smiting Prayers Hex"... Noctarch 01:59, 22 June 2008 (UTC)

If you want it to get used it needs to have something like +damage or refund energy....with just that, it becomes a conditional flare spam which is somewhat less than impressive. I'd say give it a small bonus damage as well...maybe 1...20 damage bonus as well to smite hexed targets.
no, 20 recharge, nearby aoe this one needs - Wuhy User Wuhy sig.jpg 08:12, 15 July 2009 (UTC)

Needs a buff[edit]

I'm hoping to see a buff to this skill in the future. As it is, it isn't good for PvE, as the damage it does is too low - even if it is armor ignoring damage - and it doesn't even do AOE to make up for the lack of damage. PvP-wise, this skill is very weak compared to other 5-energy skills. In PvP, players don't have very high armor or resistances, so most non armor ignoring damage will deal more damage than this one.

Here are some suggestions about the buff:

Make it AOE: Even if it only affects your target and foes (maybe a specific number, like 3) adjacent to your target, it would become a bit more useful.

Increase damage: If nothing else, increase damage this skill causes unconditionally.

Split for PvE/PvP: Splitting for PvE/PvP would be a good idea, because foes in PvE and PvP are vastly different from each other. The spell could deal more damage in PvE than in PvP, and perhaps have faster recharge time.

Make Banish apply a hex on target in addition to the damage: For x..y..z seconds, target foe is hexed with Banish, taking x..y..z % more damage from holy spells.

Add synergies between Smiting Prayers hexes: Target foe takes x..y..z holy damage. If target is under a Smiting Prayers hex, Banish deals additional x..y..z holy damage.

There could be even more suggestions, but the list would grow too long. Teisei 「ページ」 「会話」

Make it a sort of non-elite Consume Soul? Consume Soul does life steal, so making Banish strong enough to one-hit a minion or spirit wouldn't hurt its elite status too much... Also, y'know, Banish has twice the recharge, which could be increased. It'd be nice if it actually banished something. >_> --76.166.187.131 07:17, 27 October 2010 (UTC)
Maybe "Strikes one extra adjacent foe for every 5 ranks of Divine Favor." 76.88.133.237 14:40, 20 August 2011 (UTC)
"If this strikes an enemy with a weapon spell, that weapon spell is removed." how does that sound? Derikvyreflame 19:41, 15 January 2012 (UTC)
