It does cost a lot of energy, I don't see what's wrong with that. Anyways, nobody use cripshot rangers now, we all use Grasping Rangers. ;) Lightblade 19:10, 12 June 2007 (UTC)

Note that that last comment was from June. Cripshot was 15 energy back then making energy unmanageable, but it got buffed back to 10 energy bringing back its popularity (although it's still a shadow of its former self) 05:04, 9 December 2007 (UTC)
I still think it's an overrated skill, a ranger flag runner for instance would be much better off with Burning Arrow and Pin Down
The good points of this skill is that it can keep up cripple indefinitely and that it is unblockable. The unblockable feature can also be combined with preperations to create even more pressure. Great skill imo. SniperFox 17:21, 14 March 2008 (UTC)

Needs a buff vs Melandru's Shot[edit]

Melandru's Shot seems to be better in almost all situations. It uses less energy, can apply 2 conditions instead of one, inflicts a longer cripple and inflicts bonus damage. Maybe the duration of Crippling Shot's cripple could be increased? Any other ideas? Combatter 23:21, 26 July 2009 (UTC)

Why would you spam an 8 second condition every two seconds? Pin Down lasts longer and has a decent recharge. Not only that but how often are rangers blocked? Now, if this attack moved twice as fast, so that people couldn't zigzag to avoid it, it might be useful. Till then, this skill is completely useless. Eive Talk Windgrace 03:31, 2 June 2010 (UTC)

december nerf[edit]

ouch, this got seriously hit with the nerfbat, 4 sec is the duble recharge and that is only to compensate for the fact that melandrus shot got a - 2 sec recharge (which they added to this). the only reason this skill is good is because of its ability to spread crippling on multiple foes and not to have a long duration, otherwise we would roll pin down and save the elite slot for magebane (yes it isn't unblockable but still :P) to say this to compensate for the micromalistic buff to melandrus shot (that still can't be maintained on more than 1 target so it didn't matter) is quite strange XD--Miriforst fox User Miriforst fox fox icon.png 05:32, 10 December 2010 (UTC)
