Another dumb impossible mission[edit]

As of 2012. This is another of the dumb missions where the NPC character dies real easy and is impossible to protect. If you are looking here you probably selected the Kill the Ungrateful Slaves from King Jahnus in the Shattered Ravines, If you just want to complete the mission, then go to the Bone Palace and abandon this mission; go to Joko's Domain; see the Ghostly Priest to get the bounty before mounting the wurms; go North in Joko's Domain clearing all oppisition; there is one Ancient Elorian Chest to the North where the land gets narror plus there is a Sand Wurm hidden near the chest, it is hard to fight Mesa and Craigs as well as the Sand Wurm, I usually back up and wait for them to seperate and finish the Wurm first. Finally after getting all the way North, go through the Portal to the Shattered Ravines; there will be Deamons just as you come out of the portal, if you can go to your right and get the bounty from the ghostly priest, then kill the deamons. Now go to King Jahnus' tomb and now accept the mission.

If all you want is to get the mission over with; then accept the Refuse the King and say NO; King Jahnus and his 6 Royal Guards are easy to kill and the reward is the same.

Better use of this mission is Farming and Leveling. Do everything the same up to accepting the mission from King Jahnus, this time select Kill the Ungrateful Slaves; position your team around King Jahnus and go. This mission now has three groups of 10 Ghostly Slaves coming from the North and three groups of 10 Ghostly Slaves coming from the South. Hard Challenge as King Jahanus dies real easy. One Healing Monk targeting King Jahnus is not enough to keep him alive. So usually the mission fails and you get to repeat it. But if you have heros that need leveling, this gets them leveled about as fast as anything plus you get Lightbringer points for all the bounty on the daemons. I usually return by the Alkali Pan to get more bounty.

The Farming is not what it used to be, the Ghostly Slaves used to drop Dread Swords, with an Icy Pommel they made great weapons. Haven't seen any Dread Sword drops in a year, this mission has been way too Nurfed.

Just did this myself, and i kinda agree. Wouldn't be unheard of if they slapped a Master tag on this one. You'll meet hordes of warriors and smiters, of all things. Lotsa Smite Hex and Zealot's Fire. Had a slightly wierd setup when I tried it the first time, so I got my ass handed to me, but it was fairly straight forward when I mapped back and added the two generic hero Ritualists to my party. Also, don't bring a Minion Master. Rudi 22:22, 27 July 2012 (UTC)
