He wields a sword and a shield while teaching hammers? ...Tenagg backwards... Paddymew 07:16, 30 May 2009 (UTC)

Jack of all warrior trades, maybe? Perhaps, like Devona, he knows how to use both a Hammer and a Sword. It's not like he's weilding a scythe or spear+shield. Also, all Sunspear Warriors use sword, no point in not going with generic use for an unimportant NPC. -- Azazel The Assassin\talk 07:19, 30 May 2009 (UTC)
I think that Devona's weapon swap was a mistake on ANet's side, since you can hear people saying "Didn't I see her wield a sword once?" when fighting her in the Norn Tournament :) Although I don't see how it can be a problem to make the same model wield a hammer :/ Paddymew 12:50, 30 May 2009 (UTC)
The only problem would be the skills. But I think it was more done for simplicity. Just copy/paste the code of everything but dialogue and name to make things go faster. Afterall, in the Three Years of Guild Wars video, Anet said that they had to be faster paced with NF than they wanted in order to release it in the year. Doing simple things like that would help with time without having to rush things like EN. -- Azazel The Assassin\talk 15:46, 30 May 2009 (UTC)
Also: there is no Captain Calhaan in NF. He had his own skin all for himself. Though it still makes me wonder why the sunspears would need a hammer trainer if all of their warriors use swords/shields. Then they would have made it for the sole purpose of the player character. A little bit weird to find out that your true calling is to train how to use a strange weapon to some person who might not take your advice after all :P But aren't there some sunspear warriors with the axe/shield equipped? I think I saw one with a Hooked Axe a couple of times. Paddymew 07:15, 31 May 2009 (UTC)
No Sunspear NPC uses a hammer, but they do use Axes. Also, the "player character" are Sunspears, just so you know. :P And Calhaan shares his skin with Adelbern's Priests =o -- Azazel The Assassin\talk 07:57, 31 May 2009 (UTC)
Yeah I know, but it just confirms the sillyness of growing up learning how to master the hammer, while using another weapon entirely, just because some person who is going to save the world some day may or may not be using the hammer xD Oh yeah forgot about the priest, seems pretty stupid to get a healer in plate armor anyway... Especially since the only ones wearing plate armor in GW are warriors, and they suck at healing... But my point still being: They made a skin for two NPCs while not bothering to change the wielded weapon for another, which I imagine would take a few seconds for one of the developers :) Paddymew 15:35, 31 May 2009 (UTC)
