Got Q - who the heck named him "Dupek" ? AN should first check them names do they not mean anything lol --Gret 07:44, 13 July 2007 (UTC)

I answered you on my talk page, but I will answer it here too because this is really where we should have the discussion:
Why should we care that Dupek in Polish means whatever? What is the relevance? Reading your comment, you're not saying that ANet deliberately named him an insulting name, you're saying that a name of a margonite boss can be read in another language to mean an insult. I am sure there are quite a number of bosses in the game that we can say that about.
If I edited the "Prince Rurik" oage and added a trivia that "Rurik in Arabic means beans" would that seem, to you, like a reasonable edit? If I discovered that Mallyx in mandarin means foot or that Urgoz in Farsimeans filthy pig... Should I just keep adding these delightful anecdotes? My opinion is no.
With all due respect to Polish, this is an English Wikipedia, and as such if the infinite meanings that "Dupek" might have in all other languages is irrelevant. If you were saying the Devs are AWARE of that and deliberately named him so, that would be a different story.
Now I will remove the note again, and ask that yo not add it (even if you disagree) until we talk it over simply because I feel it's inappropriate to have the reference there. I really don't think the word "asshole" belongs on any article in this wiki. --Karlos 09:39, 14 July 2007 (UTC)
I don't care about "asshole" being in it, but I mirror Karlos' thoughts about notability. It's interesting, but unneeded. Posting that kind of info here on the talk page would be acceptable (and probably a better option). -Auron 09:50, 14 July 2007 (UTC)
Aye - then let it be... :) --Gret 19:53, 14 July 2007 (UTC)
i say add it for the lulz, its a fact which some people may find interesting (including me). and as for "asshole" not being on the wiki, i say why the hell not? kurdick is on here, so obviously there is no real rules against profanity on here.. and yes i know im a bit late in this response 71.59.135.73 06:58, 21 November 2009 (UTC)
