It's a feature of dragon's throat to make sure that even the most awesome team cannot survive forever. I actually ran into this a while back hitting random on Guildwiki -- they have info and the discussion page there has a screenshot:
I might copy the factual information over later, but I'd like to see if anyone else has any info :).
