Talk:Gallery of high resolution skill icons

Does anyone have high-res versions of skills that weren't included with the game? I.E., the Chinese versions of certain skill icons, or the the various unused/scrapped icons. I could use them for... lots of things, really. --Jette 17:35, 31 December 2008 (UTC)

We only have access to high-res versions of those skills that were published as Sealed Play cards (some of them are wrong though). I already asked if ANet would be able to give us more high res images, for example of PvE-only skills, and am waiting for an answer now (due to the holidays ANet seems quite absent). poke | talk 17:38, 31 December 2008 (UTC)

Non-used icons

Would it be usedful if we added icons that are currently unused ingame, such as beta icons like that from Holy Veil, in an additional section? —ZerphaThe Improver 21:51, 1 June 2009 (UTC)

It would, but those skills didn't have Sealed Deck cards made for them, so unless you bug some ArenaNet staff we won't have them, and it's possible they don't have higher resolution pictures of those old icons. Image Redirects

Is there any way to disable them for browsing? They make going through these images a pain ^_^. --Star Weaver 13:35, 3 June 2009 (UTC)

For that matter, is there a way to just get all of these to upgrade my local collection, without being a nuisence to myself or the wiki's bandwidth, since the clean-edge consistant 256x256 is better than the set I found on Guru ages ago ... ^_^ --Star Weaver 22:49, 4 June 2009 (UTC)

I can has dejpg?

As a part of my skill icons project, I'm almost finished patching up a lot of these images. 99% of them are 246x246 in high-quality jpeg format (seems like an oxymoron to me), and many of them look a lot better than the ones on the site do (though usually only if you're actually comparing them). If you guys think it's worth it, then when I'm finished, I can upload them one by one on top of the current images, but obviously that will take a long-ass time and suck up a lot of bandwidth and possibly server space. It would be awesome if you could email the icons when you are finished (if possible as uncompressed as possible, preferable as png). Then I could also update the icons we have here automatically with my bot. poke | talk 21:10, 26 June 2009 (UTC)
