Talk:Imperial Guard Hanso
POST Dragon Festival Redux - Where's Hanso?!?[edit]
The Official website says, "Imperial Supply Master Kagno will remain in Shing Jea Monastery for one week following the festival to give attendees who missed the finale a chance to trade their 250 Victory Tokens for a Demon Mask." Dragon Festival Guildwars.com Redux—August 2007
It's Saturday, Aug 18... the 6th day after the event. Can someone tell me where he is hiding? I don't see him in Shing Jea. Was he only here until Friday?Dee 23:55, 18 August 2007 (UTC)
It might have behoved you to take the time to click the link I had provided... to the official "Dragon Festival Redux—August 2007" In Game Events page on guildwars.com. Perhaps when you added your reply, you could have glanced up to see that the link goes to dragonfest2k7rerun? Possibly mousing over the link would have saved you time (if you have your Status Bar displayed in your browser)? I apologize for using the generic, non-descriptive method of adding a link, but I was checking / posting in many places trying to find an answer to this grrr problem. Dee 12:26, 19 August 2007 (UTC)
- Hmmm... it would seem that your comment on my page irked me more than I realized. Yes I am sure of what I read on the Event Page. You can peruse the link if you like ;-) Dee 12:26, 19 August 2007 (UTC)
Trivia[edit]
I was wondering, why should that second piece of trivia be on this page if no relevance is found? I am pretty sure the names of several NPCs correlate with other things in the media, but we do not note them all. Zungx 19:47, 1 July 2010 (UTC)
- ive looked it over and i find nothing relivant. re-add it if you realy thing its trivia, untill then, im removing it.--Neil2250 11:19, 4 July 2010 (UTC)
- Trivia is not the same as causal connection. Whether Hanso took his name from w:Lost or not shouldn't determine its relevance:
- Some people will wonder whether the fictional foundation is connected to the Imperial Guard.
- Lots of trivia has no direct connection, e.g. both US Prez Lincoln and Kennedy had a VPs named Johnson, were assassinated, and are associated with Civil Rights.
- I would prefer that we find a way to leave the note in. — Tennessee Ernie Ford (TEF) 11:41, 4 July 2010 (UTC)
- The thing is, we shouldnt have two trivias, if its based off one person, its pointless having two =_=, its like saying Devourer has trivia to a fat guy.--Neil2250 11:43, 4 July 2010 (UTC)
- I disagree; we should have as many bullets as appropriate. Hanso is an approximation of Han Solo and an exact match for Alvar Hanso of Lost. That makes them both trivial facts.

- Trivia is not the same as causal connection. Whether Hanso took his name from w:Lost or not shouldn't determine its relevance:
- Trivia doesn't mean that two facts are connected by a cause/effect relationship; it means that people find it interesting (while being unrelated to the primary topic, in this case, Guild Wars and Dragon Festivals). I don't feel so strongly about the Hanso foundation reference that I am going to put it back in; I do feel strongly that we should be more careful about our criteria for adding/removing something from trivia. — Tennessee Ernie Ford (TEF) 11:57, 4 July 2010 (UTC)
- "Trivia doesn't mean that two facts are connected by a cause/effect relationship" Your Entirely wrong. but i cant be asked to start a flame war about it. do what you wish.--Neil2250 12:00, 4 July 2010 (UTC)

- Above, I gave an example of trivia that is not causally connected. Wikipedia's entry says, "...knowledge that is nice to have but not essential..."; dictionary.com says, "Insignificant or inessential matters; trifles." Neither requires cause & effect; the human mind is the only thing that needs to connect them. Is there a similar reference which shows that trivia must be causally connected?
- Perhaps the Hanso foundation does not belong in this article; perhaps it does. In my opinion, it belongs if enough people believe it should be there; it doesn't if few care. Since, to date, only four people have an opinion (no: Zungx, Neil2250; yes: original editor; maybe: TEF), I'm okay with leaving it out for now. — Tennessee Ernie Ford (TEF) 16:08, 4 July 2010 (UTC)
What about this person being Hitori Hanso from Kill Bill? Without the quest's Star Wars reference, it would seem more likely to me Anon-e-mouse (talk) 18:49, 4 July 2014 (UTC)
