Naming source[edit]

Not sure who feels the fact that I was an Alpha tester and also has issues with me putting in the triva as a FACT of triva, but I will bring an Admin in here and let them make the choice. Cause I was an Alpha Tester. I also lived in BOLIVAR at the time that I was testing the game. Both are fact. Stop taking it out of the TRIVA section for no reason.--173.30.236.52 01:56, 21 February 2010 (UTC)

First of all, calm down. Second, what county was that in? I cannot seem to locate a town with that name anywhere. Thirdly, what makes you think this has to do with you? ThrainFile:User Thrain Sig.pngcontribs 02:02, 21 February 2010 (UTC)
(Edit conflict) First off, it would seem as a really farfetched trivia given that it's just a hometown of an alpha tester, that is probably why it has been removed. Secondly JonTheMon, the person that reverted you, is an admin. If you mean you will get one of the Arenanet staff to confirm the trivia, then please go ahead. If it's true then it can stay, if it isn't then look for some other reference to you, oh so great alpha tester. ~Celestia 02:04, 21 February 2010 (UTC)
If it is true? I was an Alpha Tester, 100% fact. Bolivar, Missouri, USA. Look it up. Simple Google search for City Of Bolivar: http://www.google.com/search?q=City+Of+Bolivar&ie=utf-8&oe=utf-8&aq=t&rls=org.mozilla:en-US:official&client=firefox-a As for calming down. I'm sick of putting it back in there. What gives you the right to say it isn't triva? If I'm not allowed to say it IS, then you shouldn't be allowed to say that it isn't. Far fetched? How is it that hard to believe they might actually have named a NPC after an Alpha Tester? But yet they could name it after a South American explorer? As for proving I'm an Alpha Tester, I'll send Gaile a message about it. Then will it be ok?--173.30.236.52 02:22, 21 February 2010 (UTC)
I went looking around. Why couldn't he (the NPC) be named after any of these? http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bol%C3%ADvar_%28disambiguation%29 Heck he could have been named after Donald Duck's Dog in the cartoons? Isn't that triva? The fact that Donald Ducks Dog in the cartoons was also named Bolivar? Yet the fact that an Alpha Tester's Hometown, for the very game the NPC is in, is not considered trivia?--173.30.236.52 02:37, 21 February 2010 (UTC)
Simon Bolivar was a South American Explorer, not an American Liberator. He had nothing to do with Liberating America from England. If you are going to do Triva, make sure it is correct.--173.30.236.52 02:25, 21 February 2010 (UTC)
It all seems a bit of a stretch to me, so to lighten the mood, I'd have to say he bares a striking resemblance to Bolivar G R E E N E R 02:35, 21 February 2010 (UTC)
Why is it a stretch? --The preceding unsigned comment was added by 173.30.236.52 (talk • contribs) at 02:39, 21 February 2010 (UTC).
I have asked Emily about confirmation on the matter (as she is the one to ask about trivia). As for now, we wait and see. ~Celestia 02:47, 21 February 2010 (UTC)
That is fine. Most likely the NPC was named after the Liberator. But, until ArenaNet steps in and says 100% that the NPC was named for him, it is possible that it was named after Donald Duck's Dog. I see no reason what so ever to not put that little bit in there. I think we should add Donald Duck to the list and a few others from that link I posted above. But, none the less, you all do what you want. Not worth the effort to prove that I was an alpha tester (Maybe I'll get Gaile to okay me posting an image of the Male Elemental Arm goof up?) or the fact that I lived in Bolivar while testing. Enjoy your wiki. As I very seriously doubt I will ever edit anything else on this thing ever again. I know what I did to help this game. I know I spent countless hours contributing my input on how skills work with each other. I helped Izzy countless nights working in the PVP arena to balance skills. I spent hours on end helping during the "Free Weekends" prior to the game coming out. Yeah, I got to walk around with a little "A" tabard. It really doesn't matter if you all don't want to put it in there. So do with it what you will. I know I contributed far more to this game than some silly trivia edit. --173.30.236.52 05:38, 21 February 2010 (UTC)
I'm torn between going with "umad? ;o" and "riveting tale, chap." –Jette 06:03, 21 February 2010 (UTC)
By the looks of your user page, you are doing yourself justice. Not mad and it isn't a tale. It is factual. Enjoy trolling Jette. --173.30.236.52 06:44, 21 February 2010 (UTC)
Emily Diehl has confirmed that it was not, in fact, a reference, to either yourself, nor anyone else. -- FreedomBoundUser Freedom Bound Sig.png 20:55, 3 March 2010 (UTC)

(reset indent) I am sure they are not doubting both that you were an alpha tester, and that there is a town named Bolivar and that you are from it. They are doubting (and has been stated from Anet) that this character's name has any relation. 69.182.165.163 14:18, 19 September 2010 (UTC)
