I strongly doubt it. Ng is a fairly common last name in parts of Asia (I think Cambodia) and is pronounced "ing." Otherwise, that would be like saying "this guy with the last name LU must be a reference to Losers United!" I know the name looks like a typo, but it's a genuine real-life last name.
