is it just me or is this completely superior to life transfer?? The Golden Arrow 16:12, 9 March 2008 (UTC) Yes it is ;-) Lilondra 16:08, 1 April 2008 (UTC)

Completely? No. The activation time and energy cost of Life Transfer are both lower, so it would be wrong to say that Life Siphon is strictly better. But the absurd recharge time and the fact that it's an elite makes Life Transfer impractical to use (especially in PvP), making Life Siphon preferable in almost all cases. --SoraMitsukai 17:04, 1 April 2008 (UTC)
Life Siphon is better for you where Life Transfer is worse for your enemy. But they did buff it to AoE hex... Noctarch 11:13, 2 September 2008 (UTC)
I play a blood ranger in PvE. Transfer is > Siphon for this. It reworks a touch ranger skill template, to do similar damage at longer range.
A good combat opener is Poison Tip Signet, Serpent's Quickness, target the middle of a mob for Life Transfer and Called Shot. Cheap, easy, unblockable maximum degeneration with high regen. Follow up with Necrosis and half-range bow strikes. Hollowboy 05:33, 16 April 2009 (UTC)

If two necros both cast this on the same foe, do both necros get the health regen? 75.13.227.157 21:40, 6 June 2009 (UTC)

Feb. 2010 Skill Update[edit]

Yay, 1s cast time. Always loved this hex even if it's always been pretty mediocre, the long cast time was so annoying though. 141.224.237.173 20:55, 27 February 2010 (UTC)

Skill Icon[edit]

while i am fully aware that the skill icon on this page is this one displayed in game, in A-Net's PvP Primers (this is pretty late), life siphon has a slightly different icon. Reference (Look at the Necromancer section.) Aquadrizzt User Aquadrizzt sig.png 16:51, 24 May 2010 (UTC)

That looks like the high-resolution version of the icon. It's possible that quite a bit of detail was lost (or simply removed, possibly to keep the icon from being too busy) when the image was scaled down for inclusion in the game. --Irgendwer 22:47, 8 June 2010 (UTC)

Proof[edit]

Here, for the failures: [[1]] 88.152.25.23 00:06, 21 August 2011 (UTC)

After further testing I was able to verify this behavior, but I can't replicate it consistently for some reason. It seems that moving out of maintained enchantment range of the target sometimes, but not always, causes the hex to be lost. --Irgendwer 01:44, 21 August 2011 (UTC)

This skill seems a bit pointless[edit]

As a cover and minor healing, Parasitic Bond beats this skill in both with its half energy and recharge, even if you spec 0 into Curses. The degen is small, especially for its energy cost. You might as well take something like Blood of the Aggressor and spam it, you'd get the same effect but better. Random Weird Guy 13:59, 22 January 2012 (UTC)

Are you kidding me? This+Signet of Suffering=epic pressure in pvp--83.82.62.210 21:16, 26 February 2012 (UTC)

Best Hex for Discordway[edit]

Put 2 points in blood magic and this is absolutely a superb skill to have in discordway team to ensure hex on target. Low recharge, good duration, reasonable energy cost, very high ai priority <- important. I Was Milo (talk) 11:33, 13 July 2014 (UTC)
