His name is probably an allusion to Hrothgar[1] from 'Beowulf' [2] 68.231.216.204 07:00, 13 September 2007 (UTC)
Redundant note, kinda?[edit]
- "His name might be a reference to King Hrothgar in the Anglo-Saxon Epic Poem "Beowulf".
- His name may also be a reference to King Hrothgar in Christopher Paolini's book "Eragon."
- Uh, the Hrothgar from Eragon IS a reference to the one from beowulf. So we have a reference to a reference? Is the second one really needed? personn5 03:40, 12 September 2009 (UTC)
- No, because I don't see why it would be a reference to a reference. Thrain | talk 03:41, 12 September 2009 (UTC)
- Its a reference to a reference, because the NPC is a reference to Hrothgar from Beowulf. Second note implies(er, implied) its a reference to the guy from Eragon. The guy from Eragon is a reference to the guy from Beowulf. So. Its a reference to a reference. personn5 03:44, 12 September 2009 (UTC)
